People In Church

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

At Orchard Park Community Church we believe serving others is at the core of the call to follow Jesus Christ. Based on this belief we have partnered with the following organizations to tangibly share the love of God to those in the Western New York area and beyond.

FEED MORE WNY

Donations of Food and Funds

We as a church decided to hold a virtual food drive to support the efforts of Feed More WNY as they dealt with the increased need in the community as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. Through online and mail-in giving from our congregation we were able to raise $960, and are proud to assist this incredibly organization. We will raise online in the future as needs arise.

ST LUKE'S MISSION OF MERCY

Volunteering at Monthly Sandwich Sundays

The first Sunday of each month we gather together after service as a congregation to make sandwiches for St Luke's Mission of Mercy, who then distributes them to those in need usually in the city. You are always welcome to join us or ask about bringing in sandwiches!

We also have special collections throughout the year.

PEACE OF THE CITY MINISTRIES

Donations from fund raisers

As we raise funds throughout the year, we support the incredibly important work being done by Peace of the City Ministries in the city of Buffalo.

BREAD OF LIFE OUTREACH

Volunteering and Financial Support

We support through donations and the volunteer efforts of our members, the work that Bread of Life Outreach does to meet the needs of the Colden, NY area and beyond.

CIA (CHURCHES IN ACTION) REHOUSING

Helping our new neighbors

Our church is a member of this valuable organization of local churches who are always seeking to support our community of homeless and vulnerable families when an urgent need arises. CIA helps them get settled supplying household items, bedding, furniture, clothing, and other needs.  We also participate with CIA annually in the month of September's "Undies Sundays" to collect for those in need.

BLESSING BAGS - HOMELESS & SENIORS

Volunteering, Donations, and Financial Support

Personal care items, healthy snacks, personal cards of encouragement, small journals, and more. Warm socks, gloves, and hats ( in winter). For those who are interested in making fabric draw string bags we meet together at church. A great hands-on mission! Sewing fabrics are welcome.

FAMILY SOLUTIONS CENTER

We collect donations year round

We continually support through personal care donations, underwear, socks, and other needs local school families may need.
