Each Sunday at 10:00 am, we gather for worship. While the church offers many programs and activities, this is the heart of our community. We come to be inspired and comforted, challenged and stretched. We come to be together and experience the presence of God. Our worship is enhanced by our highly skilled pianist, and our wonderful volunteer choir, often together with flute accompaniment. Although the service is liturgical in structure, the feeling is warm, intimate and open. Persons of all religious backgrounds are warmly welcomed.
Children are an important part of the life of Orchard Park Community Church -- including our worship. While there is a “crying room” and nursery care available for all services, children are welcomed and included in our worship. After the opening part of each service, children are invited to come down and gather on the chancel stairs with the pastor. There, the pastor talks directly with the children, often using props and sharing stories that relate to the theme of the day. Sometimes there is a puppet show. After which, the children are invited go to Sunday school classes where they have a time of sharing, crafts and Christian Education.
So, if it's been a while since you've shared in worship, do come to visit us. It's small enough to be friendly, yet large enough to provide a beautiful setting for worship. Our service is very "user friendly" and easy for first-time visitors. And, the sermons are not only "good news," but they are designed to relate to the issues we face in everyday life. Come be refreshed and renewed. You'll be glad you did!
