Welcome to The Orchard Park Community Church. Founded in 1986, we are an independent, ecumenical congregation affiliated with the International Council of Community Churches. Our members come from many backgrounds and traditions, gathering around a common mission to worship God in Christian unity without uniformity, to embrace diversity without divisiveness, and to embody the teachings of Christ with relevance to the needs of our world today. Our mission is to build and be an inclusive community of Christian love and faith to work toward healing in ourselves and our world.
NEWS & NOTES
Kevin & Beth D’Angelo are organizing a free dental & optical clinic to be held in Olean, NY on June 9-11. Volunteers are needed to help set up on Friday, and assist Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to help any or all of these days please speak with Kevin or Beth.
The knitting group will begin gathering again on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at Nancie Saville’s house at 7:00. All are invited to come and help with this wonderful prayer shawl fellowship and ministry.
The church council has decided to create a paid position for Christian Education coordinator for a 4 month trial period at $50/week. This person will teach Sunday school each week with a church volunteer assisting. If you know of anyone who might be good for this please let Ted know, or have them contact the church directly: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Squeaky clean to sustain our beautiful, clean church home, we would appreciate a couple volunteers for some help with light touch-ups in between the regular cleaning service such as sweeping or vacuuming and making sure there are paper towels and tissue in the bathrooms, etc. prior to worship and events. Please see Hank Meyer, Trustee, if you are able to help.
Youth community service opportunity For any youth looking for community service projects for school credit, the Orchard Park Community Church would be happy to have your help. Please contact Pastor Ted for more information.
Selected recent sermons are available on the website in pdf and a hard copy in the rack near the narthex bulletin board.
